All APIMS support Android Auto/CarPlay and have latest official public software release (Currently 3.0.18093). CarPlay requires CarPlay compliant USB Hub (obtain from your dealer).

UPGRADING ORIGINALLY EQUIPPED NON-NAV SYNC3 VEHICLES TO NAV:
If you wish to upgrade your existing SYNC3 system to support OEM navigation the APIM only must be replaced. This will come programmed for your vehicle. Please visit the store for current SYNC3 NAV APIM stock and descriptions
Upgrading SYNC 4" to SYNC3:
I do not sell kits/parts specific to the 4" upgrade for upgrading SYNC 4" screens to SYNC3 8 screens (except screen brackets - see store). The parts required to do this include all the MFT to SYNC3 parts requirements listed below plus acquiring the correct HVAC/radio control bezel, additional USB media hub wiring, screen brackets, addition of wiring, re-wiring of vehicle harnesses, and advanced programming of vehicle systems. I do not offer programming for these upgrades.
I now will assist with programming data of SYNC3 upgrades to match your vehicle and options. If you need help with programming data for your SYNC3 unit whether you have hardware to program it yourself or you can send it to me. This is for data programming of the APIM only for MFT/SYNC2 to SYNC3 Conversions. I do not program 4" to 8" conversions. No other services. - $50
I tend to get questions as to why I don’t offer kits/kit pricing for MFT to SYNC3. Let me explain.
My products are intended for the person who wishes to educate themselves enough about the upgrade that they understand the basics of what they are receiving and know the exact condition, model, etc. I now sell refurbished display units so the condition is like new for those. I also have screens for sale with defects and with those I describe the defects in the description.
The big difference between myself and other sellers is the information disclosed on the APIMs I use. I break down the APIMs to generations and for navigation models, what mapping they have installed. Unlike other sellers I will not sell a 1st generation APIM. These are known to have a higher than normal failure rate and also have a known cold weather defect. No one else discloses this that I know of. Based on information provided by Ford I know which APIMs this affects and will not sell those (which also affects some generation 2 APIMs as well…I won’t sell those that are affected).
Based on the pricing differences in generations of APIM, mapping data for navigation models and screen conditions I do not offer kit pricing. Just assemble the parts you need/want and add up the pricing in your head or a piece of paper, etc. It doesn’t take much effort.
I also do not provide you the media bay upgrade parts. Sure I could and mark up pricing on them like other vendors but why when I can just tell you exactly what you need and where to get it.
Yes, it does take just a little more work on your end but you get exactly what you expect along with knowing you won’t be getting an APIM Ford knows has issues (gen 1 SYNC3 apims and yes even some gen 2’s).
For upgrades the items you purchase from me are a display unit, APIM, GPS antenna and programming (if not doing it yourself).
